Hawksdale Lodge built circa 1840, is a beautiful family home and offers splendid bed & breakfast accommodation close to the edge of the Northern Fells of the Lake District. Set in an elevated position it enjoys spectacular views across to the Northern Pennines and the hills of Dumfriesshire.
Guests enjoy large, luxurious rooms with period furniture, gorgeous bed linen and soft fluffy towels. Waking to breathtaking views across open countryside and the smell of home cooked breakfast using the best local ingredients, including delicious freshly baked bread from the local artisan baker, and eggs from our own free range hens, we can cater for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
Conveniently located, if you are arriving by car we are just six miles from the M6, your journey couldn't be easier. For those cycling the Reivers route, we are ideally placed for a stop over and can provide secure storage for your bikes. If you are walking the Cumbrian Way, we can offer onward transport for your luggage if you prefer to walk unfettered by rucksacks.
The bustling village of Dalston with two pubs, cafes and shops is a mile away, and you don't need to go far to find a number of good pubs serving food, including the world renowned 'Old Crown' at Hesket Newmarket. Our aim is to make your stay one you will want to repeat time & time again.
Accommodation
The Accommodation comprises of 2 large double bedrooms, one with ensuite, the other with a bathroom across the hall.
As we have children and our own pets, we do not accommodate dogs in the house but will happily provide a barn for them, with prior notice.
We can provide packed lunches, and somewhere to dry your things if you are walking or cycling.
B&B Prices
Room rates are £70; our rooms are double rooms with private bathrooms.
All prices are per room per night bed and breakfast and based on two people sharing.
We offer single occupancy at £45.
An additional bed is available to enable rooms to be converted to a twin.
Seasonal special offers may be available for stays of 3 nights or more - please ask for details.
