| Hesta Scene? - Alternative Gifts, Interiors and Gallery
Hesta Scene? opened at Easter 2009 at Tithe Barn in central Caldbeck by Karen Kennedy and Julie Coghlan. The idea is for a working studio gallery showcasing a unique range of work from post-graduate students and established artists/makers, hence the name Hesta Scene? (hesta is 'have you' in Cumbrian dialect). Set in the beautiful village of Caldbeck we offer residents and visitors a true alternative gift shop and gallery.
Exhibits include paintings, textiles, interiors, jewellery, ceramics, glassware, photography, cards and much more. Many of these artists are exhibiting for the first time following graduation so it is an exceptional opportunity to see new talent.
Exciting and diverse art & craft courses are also available for children aged 5-16 years and adults. We both fundamentally believe in the importance of inspiring young people to be creative through the process of design and development, making the point that you do not need to be able to draw to be creative.
