The Old Crown - Traditional Pub - Hesket Newmarket...

The Old Crown is a traditional Lake District real ale pub and all customers will receive a warm Cumbrian welcome. We are happy to receive well-behaved children and dogs also.

The pub nestles in the beautiful fellside village of Hesket Newmarket and has done for generations. It is unique in that it is owned by a co-operative, made up of villagers, other locals and a cross section of real ale lovers from across the globe.

The Co-operative is dedicated to maintaining the essential character of the pub and the new tenant - George Brown - is working hard to preserve the old pub's reputation for a warm welcome, good food and real ale.

The Old Crown serves the very best real ales, all brewed by the Hesket Newmarket Brewery which stands at the rear of the pub, excellent bar meals, freshly made with locally sourced produce.

Our range of real ales includes:

Doris' 90th Birthday Ale

A glorious, full flavoured, fruity premium beer. Originally brewed in 1989 to celebrate the 90th birthday of Liz's mother.
