Treat yourself to some luxury at the end of a long walk with a hot bath or shower and relax in one of our very comfortable bedrooms. We can dry your boots and wet gear overnight.
The Oddfellows Arms is 100m away and serves evening meals from 6pm to 8.30 pm. The Old Crown at Hesket Newmarket (evening meals 6.30 to 9pm) is one mile away by road and 40 minutes attractive walk by the river Caldbeck. Kirkland Stores which is the village shop and Post Office is even closer.
Our bed & breakfast accommodation comprises:-
- a twin room with ensuite bathroom (shower and bath and toilet)
- a double room with own private bathroom (shower and bath and separate toilet).
- both rooms have attractive views, armchairs, televisions, tea making facilities, silent fridges and hair dryers.
- There is a smaller twin room with tea making facilities, television, fridge & hairdryer in the same part of the house as the double room and these two rooms are separated from the house landing by a door - a separate suite.
However as these two rooms share the bathroom they are not let separately but as an extra for friends or family who do not mind sharing a bathroom.
The Old Rectory was built in 1785 and is in the centre of the Caldbeck village right on the Cumbria Way, next to St Kentigern’s Church, in the churchyard of which is buried the famous huntsman John Peel.
Breakfast is served in the cosy Aga warmed kitchen.
Packed lunches may be provided if ordered in advance: £6.00 per person.
We do have a very good village shop - Kirkland Stores - 1 minute walk away which does filled buns in the summer and sells fruit, water etc.
You are welcome to enjoy the garden. Secure storage can be provided for cycles and there is ample parking.
Guests are welcome from 3.30pm and are asked to vacate their rooms by 10am on the day of departure.
£90 for double or large twin with bathrooms.
£80 for smaller twin which shares bathroom with double. This smaller twin is not let separately from the double and is ideal for family or friends who do not mind sharing bathrooms.
Single occupancy is available - rates on application.
