Thistlewood Byre is located approximately 5 miles from Caldbeck.

Take the B5299 out of Caldbeck, up the hill, in the direction of Carlisle. After 2 miles turn right at the cross roads with the B5305 towards Penrith. Continue through Sebergham and then turn left at the Sour Nook Inn.

Follow for 1 miles, then turn right at sign for Highbridge. Turn right into private driveway signposted "Thistlewood" just before you pass over the bridge over River Roe. Thistlewood Byre is situated 100 yards on the right.
